A large turtle sun bathing on a log. A pair of mallards feeds on fish. An otter swims across the pond. An "Anhinga" coomes to check out the pond. 
 
The anhinga is a water bird, but does not have the water-repelling abilities of other water birds, so
it must spread its wings to allow them to dry in the sun.
Herons, egrets, cranes, storks and other water birds are daily visitors. Sometimes it gets a little crazy when the storks show up! It's unusual to see ducks roosting in trees. The frogs love the lily pads.
 Mourning Doves are a common sight. A Red-Headed Woodpecker peeks out from behind an orange tree. Sandhill cranes are frequent visitiors to your front yard.  
These birds are so fearless, they will take bread out of your hand (for those brave
enough to allow themselves to get that close to a three-foot tall bird!)		  Sometimes friends come to call.
